Previous technology, which accounts for a majority of the homes today, will heat a tank full of water from the inside with metallic heating elements. The elements eventually corrode and efficiency decreases rapidly. This leads to high electricity bills, unhealthy water, and expensive equipment costs for maintenance or product replacement. In most electric tankless designs, water flows past heating coils to produce the on-demand hot water, rather than keeping it stored. However, the results are still the same.

After several years of product testing, data research, and 60 prototypes, Henry Mai and his team were able to engineer a patented product with a heating element composed of Infrared Quartz. This process allows the water and the carbon component heating to remain separate, while controlling the temperature to the exact degree. Unlike most water heaters, SioGreen hot water systems will never corrode or build lime scale. The product is completely maintenance free, saving up to 65% of the water heating costs, and could maintain itself for 20 years.
